2023 KAA Tournaments

Please Share with All members

We have today uploaded the entry forms for several tournaments that we will be running this year to the home page.

The Tim East Invitational this year is open to all KAA members and is free of charge to enter. It is a great opportunity for archers at any level to experience a larger event to see what goes on in a stress free environment.

The WA720 and WA1440 prospectus is also available. Both are open events available to all AGB members and entry is via the Sport80 platform with entries open for the WA720 on the 19th Feb. In response to members requests both of these events will be shot on Tenzone Foam targets and we hope this will encourage archers to enter.

Good Shooting Everyone.

Notes from the latest KAA meeting

Good Afternoon everybody, please see below pointers from the recent meeting.

4 way Indoor match: the cut off date for you to submit scores for consideration for the team is the 13th January. The easiest way to scores is through Archr and we would like to see all your scores on a regular basis. Please remember that in order to be considered you must submit scores.

Archr: Archr is the programme we use for the submission of scores from members it allows for you to submit your score from a smart phone or computer onto the database each time you record a round. Please contact records@archerykent.org.uk to obtain the required code to enable access to the system. This is by far the easiest way to submit your scores but if you would prefer to send them in manually then KAA Score return is the required form.

Coaching: Invicta coaching is our sub group that supplies the opportunity for you to improve you shooting and are there to help. for further information and to contact them visit their webpage at Invicta Coaching Group (wkal.co.uk)

National County Team event: It is our intention to submit teams to this event and during the next 6 months we will be sorting out the details and important dates for you to get your returns into us by. Although we are waiting for more information from AGB regarding format and registration we will be looking to send teams from all disciplines and if possible both Gents and Ladies.

KAA Field Championships: The date for the 2023 field champs has been set for the 12th of March. The format is to be confirmed but is expected to be a WA24 mixed and the entry form is due out very soon. In honour of the many years of hard work, especially in Field Archery, that our own Mr Derrick Lovell MBE has given, this Tournament is to be known as the Derrick Lovell Field Tournament (incorporating the KAA Field Championships)

Development Plan: After many years we now have a development officer to look at ways to move KAA forward over the next 5 years. He has a few questions that he would like to put to you in order to know where to put his emphasis. If you could send your responses to development@archerykent.org.uk or comment on this post it would be very much appreciated.

1). Do you regulary attend competitions nationally or in Kent.

If yes, what do you feel would help you perform better physically or mentally (eg. Better information of events or coaching).

If no what doesn’t appeal to you regarding competitions.

2). Would you consider carrying out a coaching qualification?

3). Does KAA provide enough competition events info on their web browser?

4). Any further comments you feel we need to know regarding Kent archers development?

Please take a minute or two to send us your thoughts, we can’t include them if we don’t them.

Can all clubs please share with your members and encourage them to sign up for their own copy.

and Finally

Thank you to those members who have logged on to Archr and are submitting their scores. Please remind everyone that it is the responsibility of the archer to submit scores to the county and it is essential that scores are submitted to be considered for a place in the county team. Please contact records@archerykent.org.uk for more information.

Notes from KAA meeting

Following last nights, Thursday 6th Oct, meeting, please note the following:

Scores returns: As previously stated there is a 4 way Indoor county match planned, so please remind all archers to submit all scores to the county via Archr. The reason we want all scores is to enable the selectors to ascertain current form. When submitting remember to include a copy of the result sheet for tournaments to verify the score, failure to do so means that it will be recorded as a practice round.

Subscriptions: Thank you to all clubs and individuals who have submitted their subs, a gentle reminder to those clubs that their returns are due and please remember to include the fee calculator or individual form as well as the AGB list of members.

Kent Club Tournaments: We are in the process of developing the calendar on the website to include tournaments run by Kent clubs, please forward the name of your shoot with the date for it to be included.

On the same note we are pleased to announce that in the summer of 2023 we will be holding the WA720 and the WA1440. Further details will be available once available.

Forthcoming County Match

Now that the indoor season is upon us, we need Kent Archers to submit their indoor scores. We are planning an Indoor County match on the 25th of February at Sittingbourne.

To pick a team we need archers to choose from and for that we need scores.

Please share this message with all members and encourage them to send in scores via Archr.

It is down to the Archers to submit scores for consideration.

If you need login details please contact records@archerykent.org.uk

Team Selection: During the course of the year we are involved in various matches against neighbouring counties both indoor and out. The selection panel will then number crunch and pick the team.

Score Submissions: The responsibility for submitting scores now lies with the archer and not the club records officers and to enable this to be as easy as possible we now use the Archr scoring system.
