Call for Nominations: KAA Merit Awards & Tassels

Nominations are now being requested for the Kent Archery Association’s annual merit awards, alongside applications for county tassels and badges. Please note that all awards are traditionally presented at the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Please review the criteria below and ensure your submissions are sent in by the end of November.

KAA Merit Awards Nominations

Nominations for the following awards should be emailed to the County Secretary at secretary@archerykent.org.uk by the end of November 2026. Nominations for the Honorary, Emeritus and Gold Tassel should include a brief explanation of why you think the nominee deserves the award:

  • Honorary Life Vice-President: Available to individuals whom the KAA wishes to publicly honour. Nominations are made prior to the AGM, with the outcome decided by a vote of the members present. Recipients are entitled to free membership of the Association.
  • Honorary Membership: A lifetime award for members with at least 15 years of membership whom the Association wishes to honour. Nominations are made prior to the AGM and voted on by members. Recipients are entitled to free membership of the Association.
  • Emeritus Medal: Presented to KAA members to acknowledge sustained, exemplary service to the Association. Suggestions can be put forward by any member, with the final award made at the discretion of the Operational Committee.

Gold Tassel

This award acknowledges meritorious service to the sport of archery.

Tassel Awards – Elite Master Bowmen

Archers who have achieved the classification of Elite Master Bowman are requested to apply for their appropriate tassels.

County Team Badges

KAA members that represent their county as an archer will be presented with an award at the AGM. The exact format of the award is currently under review.
